What happened?
On March 1, 2024, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated the guidelines for Respiratory Virus.
What are the details?
The main changes in the CDC guidance are:
- Applies to individuals who contract respiratory illnesses including COVID-19, flu, and RSV, and no longer focuses on COVID-19 alone.
- Eliminates the 5-day isolation requirement, and instead recommends a 1-day isolation.
This updated guidance is intended for community settings. There are no changes to respiratory virus guidance for healthcare settings.
