Reminder Federal: USCIS H-1B Cap Initial Registration Period Opens on March 7

As a reminder for employers, the USCIS has announced the initial registration period for the fiscal year 2026 H-1B cap. It will open at noon Eastern on March 7, 2025, and close at noon Eastern on March 24, 2025.


Key Points:

  • Registration Fee: $215 per beneficiary.
  • Process: Employers must use an online USCIS account to register each beneficiary.
  • Account Creation: Employers without an account need to create one. Existing accounts will be converted to organizational accounts upon the next login.


Important Notes:

  • Registrations are selected by unique beneficiary to ensure fairness and reduce fraud.
  • Representatives can add clients anytime but must wait until March 7 to submit registrations and fees.
  • Selection notifications will be sent via USCIS online accounts by March 31, 2025.
