What Happened?
As a reminder for all employers in Minnesota, the state has issued updated minimum wage and new Paid Leave (PFML) workplace posters and set compliance deadlines ahead of the program’s January 1, 2026, launch. Posters are mandatory, available free to print or order, and must be displayed where employees can easily see them.

Why this matters:
- Minnesota law requires posting state notices and individual PFML notices to employees by Dec. 1, 2025 (or within 30 days of hire thereafter).
- Non‑posting or late notices can trigger compliance issues.
- PFML payroll premiums begin Jan. 1, 2026 (0.88% total; commonly 0.44% employer / 0.44% employee) with first quarter remittance due Apr. 30, 2026.
Additional Information
- Minimum wage (statewide) increases to $11.41/hour on Jan. 1, 2026; 90‑day training wage becomes $9.31/hour. Updated posters are available.
- New Paid Leave (PFML) poster is available and must be posted by Dec. 1, 2025. PFML provides up to 12 weeks medical + 12 weeks family (combined 20‑week cap) with partial wage replacement and job protection starting Jan. 1, 2026.
- Posters can be downloaded or ordered free from Minnesota DLI; translations provided.

- Failure to post required minimum wage and PFML posters by the deadline.
- Missing individual PFML notices to employees (current staff and new hires).
- Payroll errors (not updating rates or PFML deductions/remittances on time).
