We wanted to remind all Minnesota employers that they are required to submit their first employee wage report whose due date is October 31, 2024.
- These reports should include each employee’s name, Social Security number, hours worked, and wages paid for the period of July 1, 2024, through September 30, 2024.
The reports will be collected through the existing Unemployment Insurance (UI) system.
- Employers with UI-covered employees need not take additional action, as their accounts have been converted to joint UI and Paid Leave accounts.
- Employers without UI-covered employees must set up a Paid Leave Only account via the UI online system.
Paid Leave benefits start on January 1, 2026, with payroll deductions beginning the same day. The first premiums are due by April 30, 2026. More details will be provided in 2025.
