Reminder Rhode Island: Enacts New Minimum Wage for 2026 and 2027

As a reminder to employers in Rhode Island, by the Governor by the Governor House Bill 5029, titled “An Act Relating to Labor and Labor Relations — Minimum Wages”into law, taking immediate effect upon signature, and updates the state’s minimum wage law under Section 28-12-3 of the Rhode Island General Laws.


New Minimum Wage Rates:

  • $16.00 per hour starting January 1, 2026
  • $17.00 per hour starting January 1, 2027
