- Rhode Island offers a 30% transferable tax credit for projects that spend at least $100K and 51% of principal photography days occur in state (if a project spends at least $10M in state, the 51% requirement may be waived). The production company must be registered with the state prior to commencing activities in the state.
- Rhode Island is committed to a work force including women, minority workers and vendors who represent the diversity of the state, the goal is to have a 15-20% racial diversity number per production. Transferors and sellers shall submit to the Rhode Island film office, and to the tax administrator in writing, a notification of any transfer/sale of tax credits within 30 days; the transfer notification shall include a processing fee of up to $200/transferee.
